The Workout
Monday, it’s Leg Day
And you thought I was gonna say chest day.. nah. We’re gonna do legs today because the bench presses will probably be taken up today. Leg day is gonna be fun today.
After your warm up, you will begin the workout. Warm up with the barbell with just the barbell alone with no weights applied. After your warm up, slowly add weights to the barbell by 25 lbs. Make sure the weight you apply after 2 warm up sets causes you to reach near failure. Make sure between 8-10 reps you begin to struggle. With that said, have fun, work smart and don’t hurt yourself.
We will begin with the beloved barbell squats. Proper form is mandatory. Legs past parallel to the ground for proper depth.
- 2 warm up sets of Barbell Squats in 10-12 reps
- Rest for 45 seconds between sets
- 5 sets of barbell squats in 8-10 reps
For the next exercise, we will move onto lunges.
- 2 warm up sets of forward lunges for 15 reps
- 45 second rest
- 5 sets of forward lunges for 8-10 reps
This exercise is definitely my favorite.
- 2 warm up sets of deadlifts for 15 reps
- 45 second rest
- 3 sets of deadlifts for 8-10 reps
And thats a wrap. For the end of the workout I like to do some dynamic stretching. Yoga is my favorite pastime here. I recommend some warrior poses and reverse warriors. Get some rest and get ready for Tuesday’s Chest and arms day!
